Character Counts

  • Students are working on memorizing and singing every other week

Rhythm Relay

  • Students learned to play a game involving quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes

  • They sit in 3 teams/lines facing the white board, the student in the back of the line gets a rhythm they must tap on their teammate's back in front of them. The rhythm gets passed down and the student in the front of the line notates the rhythm on the board. Whichever team gets the rhythm notated first and correct gets the point

  • This game works on reading rhythms, performing, internalizing and notating

Music Math

  • Students filled out a worksheet with music notes - quarter, eighth, sixteenth, half, dotted half and whole

  • Each questions has a variety of notes that are added together and they must find the answer

Recorders

  • They are working on testing out of the white, yellow, orange and green belts for Recorder Karate
